Zodiac-Ads tsk tsk
It is such a shame that someone who has been known for keeping a list of scam programs and supposedly educating people on the internet about scams is punishing his members by taking back earnings for not doing searches. I have harped and harped in this industry about forced searching and have subsided to sitting back and watching these sites destroy each other as it has only brought devastation and destruction to my own sites for trying to do something I thought was right.
But I feel ashamed to say I am a Program Owner especially after I recommended that newbies check his list of sites which were scams before joining programs.
He stated to one of his members in a query:
“Blind Clicking On Search Ads” means that you clicked the paid searchlink without even try to perform a valid search. Nobody is forced to click on search ads in order to get paid but clicking the link without do a search is like giving you money to bring me some groceries but you keep the money yourself. The deducted money is the amount you earned from these searchlinks.”
Deducted money? Comparing it to going to get groceries and keeping the money?
Another coment he made:
“Searchmails go only to member who have agreed to receive them. If someone isn’t interested in searches than why check it in interests? To take the money for an action they are not willing to do? This is like agree taking money to bring e.g. something to drink but instead keep all the money. I don’t know how you call it but I call it stealing money. “How do any of us know what me might be interested One checks an interest category because one might possibly be interested in it, but now should we punish members because they did not signup for a program or buy a product but clicked the email to earn from it?
This kind of thinking is what has gotten so much much attention in the advertising world concerning Paid to Read being scams. It is time to stand up to thse sites and say no more as a member and as another Program Owner. This kind of behavior is inappropriate and it is harming everyone in this industry.
According to several people on several forums he is deducting earnings from members who have not performed a search. He is calling those who have complained openly complainers and cheats. Do you want to belong to sites who call you an honest member a cheat because you choose not to do a search or to steal your earnings because you did not complete a search?
His terms on his site have evidently been changed from a blantant statment in regards to searching to this:
“Searches:
Members may earn by receiving Search Email Ads and visiting the advertiser websites after they have entered their member ID in the area on the website provided by zodiac-ads.com. Members From Search Friendly Countries Are Only Allowed To Search! Those countries are: The United States, Canada, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and The United Kingdom. All persons from countries not from the countries listed above who select “Searches” as a category of interest or found to be participating in “Searches” will have their account canceled and you lose All earnings up to the date of termination. Searches made through an open proxy will not be credited, no matter which country the search originates from with zodiac-ads.com. The Webmaster has the right to rescind any offer at any time without prior notification. This covers all interests and all ads. Any offer that is rescinded and found to be “overridden” by a member can cause the deletion of that member’s account and all monies therein to be forfeited, without prior notification. We track Search Ads on this site and know who is searching.”Does not the last statement of “We track Search Ads on this site and know is searching” indicate a threat of forced searching? To me it states you better not select search ads without completing a valid search or else. Then go back to read “we can rescind any offer at any time…” So no we have the classic if you do not search you will be punished scenario. This is blantant breach of terms of search engines. Encouraging any form of incentive is wrong. Incentive can be a punishment or reward for doing something. Nevertheless either is against the search engine terms of service and stealing money from the advertisers who paid to have their ads seen on those search engines.
They did not pay for some program to offer money to have members search so some Program Owner could line his pockets with their advertising money and pay their members a lousy pentance for the search. It is quite sad that they are paying members to steal and members go along with it for the pennies.
For those of you who are not members of the site or for members of the site run as fast as you can. This attitude will only self implode.
